Enter a drug/brand name in the Search page. Suggestions and facets help narrow results.
Search by Therapeutic
Open a therapeutic category from Home → Explore, or select it as a facet on the result page.
Search by Active Ingredient
Use ingredient facets or ingredient index pages to find all medicines sharing the component.

What is J-Lex? ▼
An English-based database of pharmaceuticals available in Japan. You can browse by drug name, active ingredient, therapeutic category, and manufacturer, and see metadata such as YJ code and standards.
Who is this service for? ▼
Researchers, medical professionals, procurement teams, and global companies that require English information about pharmaceuticals distributed in Japan.
Is account registration required? ▼
You can search and browse without registration. Contact us if you need dedicated data export or integrations.

Can I create an account? ▼
Account functions are optional and currently limited to enterprise users (e.g., data export). If you are interested, please contact us.
Can I change or delete my data? ▼
Yes. For privacy-related requests (disclosure/correction/deletion), see our Privacy Policy and contact us by email.
How to Use
How do I search by drug name? ▼
Open the Search page and type a drug/brand name (e.g., "Etizolam"). You can refine results by category, ingredient, manufacturer, and dosage form.
Can I search by therapeutic category or ingredient? ▼
Yes. Use the facet filters on the results page, or open the term index from the Explore section on the Home page.
What information can I find on the detail page? ▼
Key fields such as YJ code, standards, active ingredients, manufacturer, and an English summary (brief_en). Structured data is provided as JSON-LD.
