Irradiated synthetic blood – LR “Nisseki” from the Japanese Red Cross Society is an injectable synthetic blood product, YJ code 6342414X5025. It is supplied as 1 bag of blood, made by mixing red blood cells derived from 200 mL of blood with approximately 60 mL of plasma. Synthetic blood products are being developed as potential alternatives to human blood, primarily for oxygen delivery.
