Molidustat is a hypoxia-inducible factor prolyl hydroxylase inhibitor (HIF-PHI) under investigation for the treatment of anemia in patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD), particularly those not on dialysis. It works by stimulating endogenous erythropoietin production.
